From Sports Field to the Boardroom
Nicknamed 'Nails' and 'Dude' Leonard Kyle "Lenny" Dykstra, is a former Major League Baseball center fielder. A star in the minors, he led the Carolina League in various capabilities, which was a league record for 17 years. After his retirement, Dykstra ran a car wash in California, was sued for having used steroids and compelling his business partner Lindsay Jones, to place a bet on the Philies games in 1993, but later sold it in 2007. He manages a stock portfolio, and serves as president for companies privately held by him. He has had a partnership with Castrol in "tea, Dykstra" Quick Lube Centres, a fueling facility, a real estate development company, and a venture to develop, "I Sold It on eBay". He began a high-end jet charter company and a professional athlete's magazine "Player's Club" in 2008. His website "Nails Investments" gave information about his investment ideas, but in 2009 a case against him was converted to a Chapter 7 bankruptcy to liquidate his estate to pay his creditors.
