Pew Project for Excellence in Journalism found in a new survey category that 47 percent of Americans use a tablet or cell phone to access local news.
46 percent of people say that they read their news online at least three times a week. This surpassed newspapers for the first time. Local TV news stations were still the most popular, at 50 percent, while cable news channels suffered the most, falling 14 percent. CNN's primetime viewership plummeted 37 percent.
