New Delhi: Urdu writer Saadat Hasan Manto's popular short story "Toba Tek Singh" is being turned into a play, which is being produced by Sunil Bohra. The play is being directed by actor Vipin Sharma, who played Darsheel Safary's father in "Taare Zameen Par". The story revolves around Bishan Singh, a Sikh inmate (played by Vipin) in a Lahore asylum who is going to be transferred to India from the town Toba Tek Singh following the partition. "I was thinking of this for a long time but things were not working out as I was not getting the right actor and director for the play. Recently, I met Vipin who is a very good actor and when we spoke about the idea, he too shared the same thoughts. The play would be our tribute to the iconic writer," Bohra said in a statement. The show will be premiered in November. Manto, known for writing short plays and stories, has also penned scripts for films like "Aatth Din", "Chal Chal Re Naujawan" and "Mirza Ghalib".
