Contra
The run and gun action game developed by Konami in 1987, Contra was originally released as a coin-operated arcade game. Known for its difficulty and speed, Contra is a game where in the player is equipped with a rifle with an unlimited amount of ammunition. Much of the popularity of the game came from its two-player simultaneous game play, which was an uncommon feature in video games at the time of Contra's release.
The game had a popularity mark of four out of five around its release date with a three out of five for difficulty levels.
