Available in two versions, Dig Dug and Dig Dug II, the game was first released in 1982. The object of the game is to get rid of all of the monsters underneath the ground by either dropping rocks on them or inflating them until they pop. An arcade game, Dig Dug was developed by Namco in Japan. In 1985, the sequel of the game, Dig Dug II was released, but could not reach the success height of the first version. The game had a popularity level of five out of five around its release date with a three out of five for the difficulty levels.
