6. Germany:

Germany which is one of the most advanced nations of the world is the 6th most polluted nation of the world where 200 million tons of carbon is emitted annually. This country has taken the issue of increase air pollution seriously. As such, it has introduced severe norms to check the quality of air. The regulation of the air pollution control is called Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control (TA Luft) which was established for the first time in 1974 and since then the German government has kept amending it. It has also introduced environmental zones where the cars are made to carry a green, yellow or red sticker to identify its level of exhaust pollution and it prohibits filthy vehicles, usually older ones from entering major urban areas.

7. Iran:

Iran, one of the most populated countries of the world has witnessed several deaths due to the environmental deterioration. Vehicle emissions, refinery operations, and industrial effluents, deforestation, overgrazing, and desertification in the urban areas are some of the major factors which contribute to poor air quality and add up to more deadly pollutants in the environment. The country is now the seventh most polluted country in the world with 159 million tons carbon emission every year, that is, 19 percent increase. As compared to other countries on the list, air pollution is a major issue in Iran. In Tehran, the country’s capital, at least 27 people die every day from pollution-related ailments.
