The second richest man in Asia and the ninth in the world, Mukesh Dhirubhai Ambani is the current chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, which is the largest private sector enterprise in India and a Fortune 500 company. It is also one of the largest private sector conglomerates in the world. He was named in the Forbes list in 2010 among the most powerful people in the world. Forbes Magazine predicts him to become the richest man in the world by 2014. Ambani is the member of the board of directors of Bank of America Corporations and a present member of the international advisory board of the Council of Foreign Relations. He has many awards and recognitions in his name, such as School of Engineering and Applied Science Dean's Medal from University of Pennsylvania, United States-India Business Council Leadership Award from Unites States-India Business Council, Chitralekha Person of the Year Award from Government of Gujarat and World Communication Award from Total Telecom.
