India’s victory in the World Cup- June 1983

Despite Hockey being the national sport of India, its people enjoy and worship cricket more than anything and this is one tradition that is alive till today. India winning its First World Cup was like an emotional moment for many devotees of this sport and the entire nation. The match took place in England, in the very famous Lord’s ground on June 25, 1983. The victory gave India a remarkable accomplishment that cannot be forgotten. Since the attainment of this victory, cricket is worshipped even today with great enthusiasm.

Successful Space Program in 1980

India became a part of the government space agencies with the launch of SLV-3 satellite in 1980. This was a victorious moment for the entire country and not just a few scientists. Ever since India launched the SLV-3 satellite, there have been tremendous other successful achievements and developments in its space programs.
