Is The PC Era On Brim Of Extinction?

The devices which can take the form of PCs and as well as tablets suiting user’s preference—like convertible PCs by Lenovo’s Yoga series are leading the innovation in this space. The latest Surface 2 tablets by Microsoft running on Windows 8.1 packs PC experience in a smaller, sleeker body, and comes with detachable keyboard. Other PC makers like Dell, Acer and Asus too have changed their methods of classifying their devices to account for new products like tablets with removable keyboards.

The future of the PCs seems to be bright with IDC stating that it expects tablet growth to slow down from 53.5 percent this year, to 22.2 percent next year. On top of that, it also predicted a -10 percent downturn in PC shipments at the end of this year, while also saying that the decline would slow to -4 percent next year.

With all the upcoming innovations in PCs and the huge market space it already has, while tablets and Smartphones are yet to define their full fledged acceptability in the enterprises and in executing high end jobs like designing; it is too early even oracle to spell doom for PC industry.
