IPL Back in Controversies: Spot-Fixing and Sahara's Withdrawal

And more recently another scandal broke out over the involvement of Bollywood actor Vindoo Randhawa in the spot-fixing case. Son of late wrestler-actor Dara Singh, Vindoo was also recently arrested.

"Vindoo was questioned after he was found to be in contact with the bookies and subsequently arrested on Tuesday," a Mumbai Crime Branch official said.

Vindoo, 49, was on many occasions spotted watching IPL matches and attending post-match parties. His arrest is the first from Bollywood in connection with the latest scandal to hit Indian cricket. However, it is not yet known if he was a link between IPL players and the bookies or was just into betting.

Apart from Vindoo, a conduit for bookies - Prem Taneja and a hawala operator were in the spot fixing scam. Mumbai police Crime Branch also seized 12.80 million in cash from the residence of the arrested hawala operator Alpesh Patel.

The crime branch is also probing the scandal apart from Special Cell of Delhi Police, and questioned a casting director who sent photographs of models to S Sreesanth and summoned a Telugu film producer having business links with the tainted India pacer.
