Born in Tamil Nadu, A.R. Rahman is an Indian film composer, record producer, musician, singer and philanthropist. His awards and nominations include two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe, four National Film Awards, fourteen Filmfare Awards, thirteen Filmfare Awards South and numerous other awards and nominations. His debut Hollywood film was Shekhar Kapur's "Elizabeth: The Second Age". He also sang for movies like "Inside Man", "Lord of War", "The Accidental Husband"," Couples Retreat" etc. "Couples Retreat" won him the BMI London Award for Best Score. In 2010 he composed music for "127 Hours" directed by Danny Boyle.
