Indian Tech Startups Prefer U.S. And Singapore Based Accelerators


Besides, there are four other startups being incubated by 500 Startups which is set up by global investor Dave McClure. The Silicon Valley based accelerator which provides an initial seed funding of 27.5 lakh has presently admitted 20 ventures from over the globe for its Spring 2013 batch.

26 year old Abhinav Krishna who is on the JFDI programme says that finding good mentors and infrastructure were his biggest challenges. He found that most mentors expected to be paid first.

“That is very different here (in Singapore). The mentors don’t have any expectations; they are happy if I am successful.” says Krishna, whose startup called MyFitness-Wallet provides a platform to book and pay for health checkups for family and friends remotely and also receive feedback.

Pankaj Jain, a venture partner at 500 Startups feels that Indian Startups will continue to dominate in the international intake.
