The doors for the employee must be always open and it must be called a startup family than a startup team or group.

Attrition opens the door to various other opportunities. If the rates are high then, an entrepreneur can closely watch the employee movement and partner with the competitor to avoid a deep pitfall. Or a quick expert study will enable an individual to understand the deficiency in ones business by comparing it with the competitor and thereby improving the entire startup culture.
Be friends
An employee leaving the organization must not be considered as a crime, it must be dealt lightly and enough support must be given to ensure that the employee is happy which would give a different outlook and feedback to others. This approach would also help a startup survive extreme attrition rates.
