Google Nose Search by Smell: A Mere Prank?

The best part about the prank is that it offers simple and clear descriptions of the random searches. Where “Garlic” has been described as “Allyl methyl sulfide”; a “Parisian street in the early morning” has been described as “Flakey croissants dipped in brewing espresso”. However, our personal favourites are the smell of Mars, “A Curious blend of sulphur and rust with a sparkling whiff of carbon dioxide.” And that of a “Dollar Bill” which ironically enough releases a stench of “Cotton and linen covered in dirt, sweat and greed”

A lot of people have fallen for the search engine’s practical joke. The web portal, Notice board (noyicebrd.com) reported The Google Nose prank with utmost sincerity, stating “With their newest totally real project, Google is making it clear that they know where the future of online entertainment really is: smells. Meet Google Nose”. New stories like these have helped  Google succeed in their attempts to tweak its user’s Nose.
