Bangalore: With the proliferation of the iOS and the Android platforms across various mobile devices, do you wonder why apps crash on them anyway? Well a new study from mobile-app monitoring start-up firm Crittercism released findings from a study it conducted late last year and answered that much-asked question.

Forbes reported that according to Crittercism's report, a number of factors contributed to the crash of an app, which also surprisingly included which OS one used. App crashes can be caused by hardware issues, such as the use GPS services or cameras; issues with the Internet connection, (like when switching between 3G and WiFi); there could language support issues; or certain apps could cause memory problems if they use too much of the device's memory. Third-party services can also cause problems if used by developers in the writing of an app.
