Jindal Group was founded by O.P. Jindal in 1952 by establishing a manufacturing plant near Kolkata that produced steel pipes, bends and sockets. After his death in 2005, Naveen Jindal took over the reign of Jindal Steel and Power as the Managing Director of the company. Since then, Naveen and his company never looked back. He took the company into the next level by foraying into Mining, Power Generation and Trading, Petroleum, Cement and Infrastructure. Today, Jindal Steel and Power limited has more than $2.9 billion of annual turnover and is considered to be a bigger steel manufacturing unit than Tata. Under his leadership, the company also operates the largest coal-based sponge iron plant in the world and has an installed capacity of 3 MTPA of steel at Raigarh in Chhattisgarh. With his vision to contribute his part towards the success of India, his company aims for a fast-paced growth.
