Vassily Anisimov was too quick to realize the potential of capitalism when the Soviet Union fell. He invested in aluminum plants, the Rossiyskiy Kredit bank and Metalloinvest, one of the largest mining companies in Russia while many of his fellow Russians were still struggling with the new economic realities. Anisimov eventually became one of the richest men in his country. Anna turned into a social butterfly while living in New York, partying, shopping, modeling occasionally, and doing all of the things that socialites do. She went to school at New York University. She soon got into the real estate game. Besides her four other residences across the U.S., she also bought a $23 million studio which she transformed into condos.
