General Motors Ecotec: With an aim of winning the market share, the U.S. carmaker introduced rather an eco friendly brandwagon in its lineup of EcoTec engine, which 
is expected to spot on the upcoming 2015 Chevrolet Cruze. The line-up also includes a 1.0 liter three cylinder, direct-injected, turbocharged motor followed by 10 different engines ranging from three to four cylinders in 1.0 to 1.5-liter specifications. The 1.0-liter engine is present in two options that can churn out 88.8bhp and 113bhp respectively. EcoTec is an all-aluminum constructed engine that has the newer technologies incorporated in it, which includes the variable valve timing, counter balance shaft dipped in oil sump and exhaust manifold integrated in the cylinder head. The compatibility of the engine extends to CNG, FlexFuel and Hybrid technologies as well.
