9. Suman K Bery, Member, Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council:

Bery is one of India's most influential and respected economists, based in New Delhi, who is an influential advisor to the Government of India and to the financial and business community. He is currently the Country Director, India Central, for the International Growth Centre (IGC) in New Delhi, based at the Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi Centre. Since August 2009, he has been a member of both the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, New Delhi and the National Statistical Commission, a body responsible to Indian Parliament for the quality and integrity of India's Statistical System. He was formerly Director-General of the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), which are India's most distinguished economics bodies. Highly respected speaker and commentator on India's economy, policy initiatives and financial markets and is prominent in the discussion about the economic relationship between China and India one of a small group of Indian economists invited to Beijing in 2004 to compare the two emerging economies. He holds advisory positions with key Ministries (Finance, Labour, External Affairs), Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry, (ASSOCHAM), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
