5) Dipak C. Jain -

Dipak C. Jain was the former Dean of Kellogg School of Management. He is the present Dean of INSEAD. Jain is the Professor of Marketing at the Kellogg School of Management and Sandy and Morton Goldman Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies. He was also the visiting Marketing professor at the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. He completed his schooling from Rastrabhasa Hindi School of Tezpur. He received his bachelor’s degree in Statistics, with honours, from Darrang College, Tezpur and his masters degree in Statistics from Gauhati University. He was a teacher at Gauhati University for 5 years before he got his PhD in Marketing at the University of Texas at Dallas. His research areas include - market segmentation, marketing of high-end products, competitive market structure analysis, new product diffusion, cross-cultural issues in global product diffusion and forecasting models. Jain is a renowned mathematician and statistician. Jain is the Independent Director on the Board of Reliance Industries. He has been a consultant at Hyatt International, Philips, Microsoft, Eli Lilly and Company, Novartis, Nissan, Sony American Express and Motorola. He is a Board member of Northern Trust Corporation and Hartmarx Corporation, Deere & Company. He was a former Director at Peoples Energy and United Airlines. He was also on the editorial board of Journal of Marketing Research, Associate Editor for the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Area Editor for Marketing Science and departmental editor for the journal Management Science. Jain has received numerous accolades, such as - Jawaharlal Nehru Merit Award in 1976, Youth Merit Award from Rotary International in 1976, Gold Medal from Jaycees International in 1976, Gold Medal for the Best Graduate of the Year from Darrang College in Assam in India in 1976, Gold Medal for the Best Post-Graduate of the Year from Gauhati University in India in 1978, Outstanding Educator Award from the State of Assam in India in 1982, Beatrice research professorship in 1987-88, Kraft research professorships in 1989-90 and 1990–91, John D.C. Little Best Paper Award in 1991 and Sidney Levy Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1995.
