Chennai: Assistance services company Axa Assistance India is hoping to tie up with public sector non-life insurers to act as their healthcare claims processing agency even as it is expanding its other services here. "Joining hands with public sector non-life insurers for processing their health insurance claims is a major opportunity which we are looking at," Axa Assistance managing director Pradeep Bery told IANS on the sidelines of a media meet announcing the company's service-cum-marketing tie up with T.V. Sundaram Iyengar & Sons Ltd. The four government owned non-life insurers have decided to promote a common third party agency (TPA)/healthcare claims processing agency and have called for expression of interest from interested parties. "We have submitted our interest and yet to hear from them," Bery added. Assistance services companies are ones offering varied services ranging from setting right a leaking tap to emergency evacuation from a remote location for a fee. Speaking about Axa Assistance's India plans, Bery said the company has started offering travel, home and security assistance services. "We are targeting the corporates for our travel assistance services-like assistance to our subscribers travelling overseas in case of any emergencies. We have tied up with Bharti Axa General Insurance and are in negotiations with other private non-life insurers in India," Bery said. Under home services, the company will provide carpenters, plumbers and others to fix anything that goes wrong at home. "We are in the process of tying up with a network of service providers for this service. We will be offering this service along with MyTVS - the roadside vehicle assistance division of T.V. Sundaram Iyengar and Sons," he said. Speaking about the tie-up R. Dinesh, joint managing director of T.V. Sundaram Iyengar and Sons, said: "Under MyTVS division we offered roadside vehicle assistance. Now we have decided to look at individuals apart from the vehicles." Bery said Axa Assistance India launched security assistance service Thursday tying up with G4S security services. The two other major organised assistance service providers in India are Mondial Assistance and Europ Assistance.
