Aged less than 30: Entrepreneurs worth Billion Dollars
Brian Chesky
Founder and CEO of: Airbnb
Age: 29
Brian Chesky along with his two other cofounders, Joe Gebbia and Nathan Blecharczyk, launched Airbnb in 2008. It made its first splash at the Y Combinator Demo Day and later became the first billion dollar company. It has been on news for the kind of service it gives and this peer-to-peer apartment rental site has raised $120 million at a $1.3 billion valuation. It is a trusted community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book unique accommodations around the world; it can even be accessed over a phone.
Andrew Mason
Founder and CEO of: Groupon
Age: 31
In 2008, Andrew Mason founded Groupon from The Point, a startup which miserably failed. In span of two years he grew the business into a massive couponing business that Google offered to buy for $6 billion. Instead Mason took the company public. Last quarter Groupon generated $559.3 million in revenue and $39.6 million in operating income. The whopping offer of $6 billion reached Mason’s table when he was 30.
