Nitin Reddy Tumma-Nobel Prize for juniors
Nitin Tumma, a 17 year old Indian American was honoured with the Nobel Prize for juniors (popularly known as Intel Science Talent Search) for his research on cancer pathogenesis.It is one of the most prestigious and oldest ‘science and math competitions’ in the U.S.
Nitin is the only Indian American winner of this competition so far, who was awarded an amount of $100,000 by Intel Foundation. He is from Northern High School in Port Huron who did project on the topic “Elucidating Pathways in Cancer Pathogenesis: Establishment of Interaction between TGF-ß/Ras Pathways and Identification of gC1qR as an Oncoprotein.”
