Telugu Mayor felicitated at Chicago

Illinois: The American Telugu Association and Telugu Association of Greater Chicago felicitated Banda Karthika Reddy, the mayor of Hyderabad, and her husband, Banda Chandra Reddy, at a function at Mirchi restaurant in Schaumburg, reports N Begum of Desi Talk.
Among those present were Amarendra Nettem, president of the Telugu Association of Greater Chicago; the group's executive committee members Sundar Dittakavi, Ramesh Garapaty and Kondapalli Satyanarana Reddy; American Telugu Association founding members B. Madhava Reddy, G.L.N. Reddy, Sunitha Reddy, Karunakar Madhavaram; and other prominent Telugu community members from Chicagoland.
The mayor thanked organizers for the reception and urged the community to stay united. Many women who attended the reception were quoted as saying that they have been inspired by the mayor, the first female elected to that office. Later, the group celebrated the birthday of Chandra Reddy.
