Bangalore: Sybase, the US-based global enterprise software firm, has entered into a partnership with Manthan Systems, a Bangalore-based solution provider of business intelligence (BI) and analytics solutions, to deploy its IQ database platform for data warehousing needs of the retail sector.

The partnership will enable Manthan to use the Sybase data warehousing product to deploy its flagship retail-specific BI solution "ARC" cost-effectively for retailers in food and grocery, fashion and lifestyle, merchandise formats and speciality segments.

Built on an enterprise retail data model, ARC provides cross-functional analytics for retail functions and empowers retailers with the right kind of analytics.

"Retailers have found ARC's ability to be deployed rapidly as a major advantage in their competitive environment. The data model variants can be customised for other retail users," Manthan marketing director Anand Sri Ganesh said in a statement here Monday.

By deploying the synergistic products of Sybase and Manthan, retailers will be able to leverage their IT investments, link data resources and extend the reach of business-critical information to their users.

As a leading provider of enterprise infrastructure and mobile software, Sybase focuses on managing information from data centres to the point of action. Its open, cross-platform solutions deliver information enabling customers to create an information edge.

As an upcoming software product firm, Manthan helps retailers capture and process data that can be leveraged to improve planning, monitor results, anticipate changes and mine opportunities.

With a suite of products and solutions, Manthan caters to a range of retailers and FMCG firms, including Woolworths Germany, Haggen Supermarkets, Game Stores group, Castorama, Ecco Sko and McDonalds.
