Sundar Balasubramanian joins EMC India COE

Bangalore: EMC Data Storage Services India has appointed Sundar Balasubramanian as General Manager, Strategy & Business Productivity at the EMC India Center of Excellence (COE). In his new role, Balasubramanian will operate from Bangalore and will be responsible for incubating and growing new products and solutions in high growth markets such as India and will play a strategic role in developing the COE's product management capabilities for global markets. He will also oversee image building of the COE, corporate social responsibility initiatives, outreach programs with universities and influencers, and will lead partner relationships for COE-led initiatives. Announcing his appointment, Sarv Saravanan, Vice President and Managing Director, EMC India COE, said, "The EMC India Center of Excellence is at an inflection point today. The India COE is the largest R&D center outside of North America for EMC and with our steady growth and the investments; we are now well positioned to achieve the aspirations we have set for ourselves. Balasubramanin's appointment is one in a series of investments being made by EMC to ensure the Center of Excellence is a hub for customer-oriented solutions and services, product and market innovation, and engineering excellence." A mechanical engineer from IIT - Mumbai and an MBA from IIM ? Kolkata, Subramaniam was earlier with Microsoft India as Director of Education and Employability for the Emerging Market Group. During his eight years there, he held several leadership roles including Head, E-commerce, Director of Partner Group, and Director of Information Worker Business Group (Office and other productivity and collaboration products).
