Bangalore: LogicaCMG has today announced the latest release of its Short Message Service Centre, the next generation IP SMSC, incorporating several new features. The new release is completely IMS-ready and entirely interoperable with fixed and mobile Instant Messaging (IM) platforms.
Unlike the popular belief SMSCs are a âlegacyâ solution, LogicaCMG is applying its leading messaging domain expertise to ensure high levels of SMSC innovation, now enabling network operators to pro-actively link SMS to internet-based messaging with new features like IM interoperability, extended personalisation for users, advanced content provider support, marketing reporting and operational management.
Operators are under increasing competitive pressure and they are looking to exploit internet opportunities. They need, therefore, to differentiate their SMS offerings in order to sustain revenue growth. LogicaCMGâs new SMSC release meets this operator need through a rule-based service logic capability which provides a high level of flexibility in managing and personalising the subscriberâs SMS experience, in addition to efficiently introducing differentiated charging and value-added services.
Henk de Boer, senior vice president, mobile messaging, at LogicaCMG, said: âAs operators prepare for the convergence of networks and services, the ability to innovate and improve existing services such as SMS is crucial in order to stay ahead in this competitive environment. We are convinced that service differentiation and personalisation are key to ensure continued messaging success and our latest SMSC release is an indispensable component in this evolution."
