SAR Silicon Systems ties up with EaglePicher

NEW DELHI: Power products marketer SAR Silicon Systems on Tuesday announced technology transfer agreement with US-based EaglePicher Inc for manufacturing automotive batteries.
Technology development and R&D in the battery industry has not kept pace with global standards due to lack of competition in the industry, SAR Silicon Managing Director Rakesh Malhotra told a news conference.
Recognising the need to bring superior technology in automotive batteries, SAR entered into technology transfer and licensing agreement with EaglePicher, he said.
The move, coupled with the booming domestic car industry, would help EaglePicher to enter India and tap the growing market.
