PUNE: Vascon Engineers has set up a Rs 48-crore software park "Marisoft" in Pune. The city already houses BPO company Msource and software company Parametric Technologies Corporation (PTC) in the first two phases of the project.

R Vasudevan, chairman and managing director, Vascon Engineers told reporters that Marisoft is all set to enter its third phase of construction with a unique concept of `walk to work’ for its IT clients. Spread over five lakh sq. feet at Kalyani Nagar, Marisoft would be completed in the coming financial year. The expansion plans include a health club, shopping mall, entertainment park and recreational facilities for the software park.

Marisoft already has fiber optic connectivity system from Tata Tele Services Maharashtra Ltd for voice data, video conferencing and high-speed communication links, access control and AC management. A complete residential complex intertwined with Marisoft is coming up to facilitate the walk to work kind of concept.

Vasudevan said that the company had completed 1,10,000 sq. feet so far and would be adding another 2,50,000 sq. ft to the project. He said that the company would be setting up an incubation center facility offering services for start-up IT units in the range of 2,000 sq. feet – 5,000 sq. feet.
