Pallab Chatterjee is the new CEO of Symphony Services
Palo Alto: Symphony Services, a global company specializing in software product engineering outsourcing services, has appointed Dr. Pallab Chatterjee as its new Chief Executive Officer. Chatterjee, expanding his current position as Chairman of Symphony Services' board of directors, will assume responsibilities from Gordon Brooks, who has elected to leave day-to-day management of Symphony Services after six years as the company's President and CEO. Brooks will continue his commitment to Symphony as Vice Chairman of Symphony Services' board. In his position as Chairman and CEO, Chatterjee will be responsible for Symphony Services' overall strategic direction and execution as the company continues its geographic expansion and organic and inorganic growth in outsourced engineering services for independent software vendors (ISVs), embedded software and engineering services for design and simulation. A recognized technology innovator and experienced executive, Dr. Chatterjee is a Managing Director and operating partner of Symphony Technology Group (STG). Prior to STG, he was CEO of i2 Technologies. Before i2, Dr. Chatterjee spent twenty four years at Texas Instruments in a variety of positions, including senior vice president of research and development, chief technology officer of Texas Instruments Technology Labs and President of its $1.5 billion Notebook and Calculator Division. He has been the recipient of numerous industry awards and accolades, including TI Senior fellow (1985), IEEE Fellow (1986) and the IEEE J.J. Ebers Award (1986) and Member of the National Academy of Engineers (1997). "I am looking forward to expanding my role within Symphony Services and to working more closely with our employees and clients," said Chatterjee. "I am excited to be able to use my strategic and operational experience to help us become the most admired engineering outsourcing provider now and in the future." Brooks, who presided over Symphony Services as the company revenue grew by nearly 500 percent in six years, will continue in his board position and assist operating management on major client deals. "I have really enjoyed my time as CEO of Symphony Services and my belief and confidence in our people, vision and strategy has never been stronger," said Brooks. "I remain committed to our company's success and will continue to support the company in every way possible." "The advantage to working with such a deep and talented STG leadership team is that we can meet a need within one of our companies, even when there are big shoes to fill," said Dr. Romesh Wadhwani, Chairman and CEO of STG. "Gordon has been an outstanding CEO and under his leadership, we saw explosive growth within Symphony Services, with new development centers in the U.S., India and China, representing 3,000 employees. We thank him for his dedication and leadership in this role. Under the visionary guidance of Dr. Chatterjee, I'm confident that Symphony Services will continue to grow and lead the market in innovation, delivering unmatched value to our clients, employees and shareholders."
