PTC designates Rafiq Somani as India Country Manager

Bangalore: PTC (NASDAQ: PMTC), a product development company, today announced that Rafiq Somani has been appointed Country Manger, PTC India. Somani began his career with PTC in 1996 and recently held the position of Regional Director, PTC – India for Direct Business. In his new role, Somani will be responsible for driving PTC India’s growth in manufacturing and Enterprise Content Management (ECM) across key verticals such as automotive, publishing and life sciences. Speaking on Somani’s role as Country Manager, Peter Schmidt, VP Emerging Geographies, PTC said, “He has over 12 years experience in PTC and knows our customers, markets, competitor landscape and opportunities in the Indian geography extremely well and is perfectly suited to head our business operations in India and spearhead the company’s growth in a critical emerging geography.” Somani has over 17 years experience in the IT and the PLM industry, including tenures with leading firms like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Minicomp Computers. He holds a degree in Computer Science and a Masters in Marketing Management. He is passionate about working towards social causes and is currently the Chairman of the “Economic Development Board-India, AKDN.”
