California: GoAhead Software, a Bellevue based middleware software provider, and U.S. based Ortiva Wireless, a rich mobile content provider have partnered together for future releases of the mobile Video Optimization Gateway (mVOG) on carrier networks. Under the deal, GoAhead will facilitate Ortiva's carrier requirements and installation processes. "We transition multiple trials to full-scale, live customer deployments," says Marc Zionts, Ortiva Wireless CEO. Ortiva's mVOG streams video content based on the individual subscriber's network conditions. Ortiva selected the GoAhead team for the rollout of its carrier-grade technology, said Asif Naseem, GoAhead Software President and Chief Operating Officer. The major players in middleware sphere comprise of IBM, Red Hat, and Oracle. Vendors such as Axway, SAP, TIBCO, Mercator Software, Crossflo, Vitria and webMethods were specifically founded to provide Web-oriented middleware tools and firms like Apache Software Foundation and the ObjectWeb Consortium encourage the development of open source middleware.
