Mobile call drops, Indian CXOs favor landlines
Bangalore: Three out of five small businessmen say that they face call drops (getting disconnected before the call gets over) in two to three out of 10 calls, according to Hindustan Times-C fore survey. This is increasingly frustrating Indian firms who cannot afford dropped calls as it is affecting business. Corporate houses have no longer faith in using mobile for business calls due to the poor service. "I've shifted to fixed telephones now for all important business calls. Though they don't offer mobility or have restricted mobility, getting someone to call on your office desk is the best practice and safer for business," said a data centre provider, Gagandeep Sapra, CEO of System 3 Group to Hindustan Times. Mobile phones have become very common nowadays. The number of new subscribers that are added each month is astounding. But it seems that the mobile operators are having a tough time in handling the load of new customers as the complains of call dropping are at an all time high. Around 63 percent respondents say call drops have seriously affected their businesses, the survey reports. "When you want to make an important call, you are unable to do it," said Abhay Khanna, who works in his family-owned company RMS, a Delhi-based power equipment manufacturer.
