NEW DELHI: BPO service provider Intelenet Global Services, a joint venture company between HDFC and Barclays, said that it was scouting for acquisitions in the U.K.

The company’s Vice-President for sales, solutions and transitions, Sandeep Aggarwal said, “We are looking forward to have a presence in the U.K. so that about 10 percent of the high-end transactions can be handled from the U.K. center and the balance can be sent to India.”

Intelenet Global hoped to have its presence in the U.K. in the next two to three months, and would go for a 500-700-seat capacity. “For this, we are exploring two options, one where we buy a company with clients, whose work can be outsourced to India. The other option is to buy out a shared services center of a prospective client. We can then move a portion of the existing work to India and also scout for new clients in the UK,” he added.

Besides, the company is also keen to go for an acquisition either in Canada, U.S., Mexico or Chile to serve the U.S. market. At present the company has three facilities in Mumbai and two centers in Chennai and recently announced its decision to acquire Sparsh, the domestic business process outsourcing (BPO) venture of Spanco Telesystems and Solutions.
