Jaipur: Policyholders of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Co in Rajasthan will now be able to pay their premium in cash at 626 "e-Mitra" service centres spread across 13 districts of the state.

The insurer has entered into a strategic partnership to this effect with the government of Rajasthan. e-Mitra is an e-governance initiative of the state government.

Customers can now walk into the listed e-Mitra kiosks, produce their acknowledgement letters and policy numbers, and make their premium payments in cash.

Speaking at a press conference here Thursday, Rishi Srivastava, senior vice-president and head, rural business, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, said: "Our strategic partnership with e-Mitra will increase our on-ground touch points with customers and enable them to pay their premiums in cash at the nearest e-Mitra kiosk.

"This unique public-private partnership will enable us to provide maximum convenience to the people of Rajasthan. Through this strategic tie-up, we will be able to reach out to a wider customer base and provide additional value-added services."

The company has announced a similar tie-up with the Andhra Pradesh government.

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Co, a joint venture between ICICI Bank and Prudential Plc, was one of the first players to commence operations when the insurance industry was opened to the private sector in 2000.

The firm has underwritten over five million policies since inception. It has a network of over 735 offices and over 243,000 advisors.
