Huawei Launches World's First Commercial LTE eNodeB
Bangalore: Huawei Technologies, a provider of telecommunication network solutions announced the launch of the world's first commercial LTE (Long Term Evolution) eNodeB. The LTE eNodeB which is ready for large-scale commercial deployment will be able to fully support a downlink rate of up to 150 Mbps in commercial LTE networks. Huawei's LTE eNodeB is able to maximize the use of the ultra-wide bandwidth of LTE networks since it has 64QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) and MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology with 2T2R (two transmitters and two receivers) capabilities. Higher-speed connection can provide end-users with mobile data services such as high-definition VOD (Video-on-Demand) and high-simulation video conferencing. Wan Biao, President of Wireless, Huawei said, "It is a great milestone in the development of LTE technology. Based on our fourth-generation base station platform, eNodeB will enable operators worldwide to offer high quality LTE services immediately and accelerate the maturity of LTE industry." The SON (Self Organizing Networks) solution of eNodeB can automatically configure and optimize new cells in an LTE network. This solution will enable operators to reduce the expenses in operations and smoothly evolve to next-generation networks without extra investment. So far, Huawei has made over 3,000 LTE/SAE (Service Architecture Evolution) contributions to standardization bodies, and finished field tests and trials with operators such as Telenor and China Mobile.
