HCL and Wipro give power to their heirs
Bangalore: Top honchos of IT bellwethers HCL and Wipro have powered their kins to more responsible positions in the company. Roshni Nadar, the daughter of HCL founder Shiv Nadar, has become the Executive Director and CEO of HCL Corporation. Rishad Premji, the elder son of Wipro Chairman Azim Premji has been tasked as the General Manager of the company's Treasury and Investor Relations wing. The HCL Corporation owns 54.47 percent of HCL Infosystems and 68.2 percent of HCL Technologies. As reported in Business Standard, Roshni will be involved only in the HCL Corporation and not in HCL Infosystems or HCL Technologies. An MBA in Social Enterprise Management and Strategy from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Roshni will be responsible for strategic decision-making fostering the growth of HCL Corporation. Holding an MBA Degree from the Harvard Business School, Rishad Premji joined the company two years ago as a Business Manager in the Banking and Finance Division. However, as the promoters of both the HCL and Wipro companies have a controlling stake in their respective enterprises, so it was easy for their kins to acquire top positions in the company. While HCL is owned by Nadar, Premji holds 79.4 percent in Wipro.
