Groupon's SoSasta website hacked

Bangalore: An India based shopping and discount website named SoSasta.com is in news as it was hacked last weekend. The owner Mahesh Moorthy tweets a screenshot of the E- mail communication on twitter. It has its access over 11 cities in India- - Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi/NCR, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Nagpur, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru. The customers are being alerted about the issue by sending mails which states about the breach of security and the users have to change their passwords for their account safety even after the situation was brought under control. SoSasta.com is owned by Groupon. The website negligently left the SQL database files non private, containing email address and passwords of 300,000 users seemingly but seemingly no access to credit card information, Debit card information and net banking as per the legal procedures that are to be followed. Aftermath, the problem was deducted and the correction was done. The notifications were sent to all customers regarding the hacking problem and assurance of no monetary loss was also given SoSasta.com is using customer support line for clearing the doubts and problems of the customers.
