CAMBRIDGE: ATG (Art Technology Group, Inc., Nasdaq:ARTG), Wednesday announced that FranklinCovey has selected ATG 6 to power the third generation of its eCommerce site, FranklinCovey.com. FranklinCovey is a global leader in effectiveness training, productivity tools and assessment services for organizations and individuals, creating products such as the popular Franklin Planning System(TM). By deploying ATG Commerce, FranklinCovey is looking to simplify the online shopping experience for its customers, lowering shopping cart abandonment rate and making it easier to identify and target customers with highly specific promotions, based on their personal preferences. Through ATG Commerce, customers will now be able to navigate through the checkout process and seamlessly manage their orders online. "FranklinCovey's Web channel has been a very profitable piece of our business and we must continually improve our presence online in order to make the experience for customers increasingly positive so they will return," said Doug Smith, executive vice-president of e-commerce for FranklinCovey. "FranklinCovey offers a great line of products and services and ATG will play a key role in helping us build better relationships with our loyal customers. Such relationships will give us a greater return on our investment and offer enhanced customer service." FranklinCovey is looking to lower its infrastructure costs by switching from a different commerce software vendor to the ATG Platform, which easily scales to meet demand. In the two previous generations of its site, FranklinCovey was not able to cost-effectively scale its site to accommodate its traditionally high traffic period between the months of October and February. Another strength of using ATG is the ability to place more power in the hands of the business user, allowing them to segment users and create a customized page for each visitor. "FranklinCovey, like many of our customers, selected ATG to develop a next generation Web site for building stronger customers relationships, increasing incremental sales, and providing innovative levels of service," said John Dragoon senior vice president of marketing for ATG. "Using reliable applications like ATG Commerce and ATG Portal, FranklinCovey will now have the flexibility to extend their site to truly meet their business needs." Working with Franklin Covey on the ATG implementation is SBI and Company. SBI and Company is a leading professional services firm that delivers measurable business value to market leading companies in a focused set of industries. SBI has worked with ATG to deliver a number of successful implementations including Classroom Connect, Hotels.com, Sega and Walgreens.
