Firefox 4 passes 100 million downloads

Bangalore: Firefox 4 has completed 100 million downloads. Since the browser has launched, European users have contributed the most for the download share by browsing it around 38.6 million times. North American users have downloaded 30 million and Asia comes in the third rank with around 20 million downloads. However Germany has got 7.3 million downloads of Firefox 4. StartCounter reports that Firefox 4 has grown the market share of 8.04 percent. It is less than the Internet Explorer 8's commanding 30.4 percent market share. Although 18.41 percent of market share is held by Mozilla browser version 3.6. Firefox 4's average share for the month of April was 7.3 percent, more than double the average for March. In the last four days, Firefox 4's share has exceeded percent. The market share of Internet Explorer 8 has remained relatively constant since Firefox 4's launch with 30 percent. Users running Firefox 3.6 dropped from around 23.1 percent to 18.4 'go figure' and users of Google's Chrome browser remained relatively constant at around a market share of 15 to 16 percent. However Internet Explorer share has jump up from 44.8 percent to 45.1 percent.
