Desis should involve in U.S. politics: BJP leaders

Washington: Vijay Jolly and N. Indrasena Reddy, BJP leaders from India, urged Indians in America should actively take part in various activities of American politics, while addressing an audience at a seminar organized by Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) in Alton Square Club House, Herndon, Virginia last month, reports India Tribune. Vijay Jolly, joint convener of BJP Overseas Affairs, vice president of Delhi State BJP, and president of Delhi Study Group and Indrasena Reddy, BJP Prabhari of Sikkim State, former BJP national secretary, and former president of Andhra Pradesh, were the chief guests of the seminar and were greeted by the heads of several Indian American organizations, including Chittaranjan Reddy, and Srinivas T, representing CATS and GWTCS respectively. Raghu Varma, chief coordinator of OFBJP Washington DC chapter, welcomed the guests and attendees. Dr. Adapa Prasad, national president of OFBJP-USA, and Prof. Rao Mulpuri, national general secretary, introduced Vijay Jolly and Indrasena Reddy. Indrasena Reddy appealed to the Indian American community, particularly the youth to think positive about India. He narrated his annotations on the voting procedures of the recently completed US national election and elucidated how India's election process was the best in the world. Vijay Jolly encouraged the young Indian Americans to steer their minds in the path of nationalism. He said as he led a delegation to China and Bhutan, he called attention to the constant engagement with China.
