Bharti gets MIS Asia IT excellence award

NEW DELHI: IndiaÂ’s largest private telecom operator, Bharti Tele-Ventures Ltd has bagged the prestigious MIS Asia IT Excellence Award 2005, thus becoming the first Indian company to get the award. The company got the award for its IT COP (Community of Practice) transformation at the MIS Asia IT Summit at Singapore. ''The award recognizes and highlights the three-year IT transformation journey undertaken by the IT community of Practice team at Bharti, which began the creation of a single IT platform in 2002 and 2003 through a unified IT organization,'' Bharti said in a statement here. Bharti was one of the 97 companies selected from Asian countries like China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia and Japan.
