Bangalore: Microsoft has announced that various games that are popular in iPhone will now make their debut on Windows Phone 7 (WP7) platform. These games include the popular Angry Birds, and others like Doodle Jump, Plant vs Zombies, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1 and geoDefense. Although, Microsoft was initially of the opinion that apps do not necessarily contribute to the success of a smartphone platform, their present move seems that they have changed their mind. However, of late, things are going WP7's way, with the recent adoption of the platform by Nokia as its primary smartphone OS and now this news. The Angry Birds will be launched on April 6 in the platform that will be joined by other games. Rovio, the company behind Angry Birds had initially differences with Microsoft, when the latter used the icon of Angry Birds for a promotional purpose during launch of WP7. Although coming from this background, Microsoft has made huge stride with both WP7 and Angry Birds, but Rovio's Peter Vesterbacka opines that Apple will continue to enjoy the number one tag for a long time to come.
