Acer opens third 'Acer Mall'

BANGALORE: Acer India today announced the opening of its third Acer Mall in Bangalore. Like all Acer Malls across the country, this outlet will showcase the entire range of Acer Desktops, Notebooks and consumer peripherals which would include the latest Aspire series of consumer PCs, the TravelMate notebook series and projectors.

The new Acer Mall is located in Jayanagar. The new Acer Mall would be the 20th exclusive Acer brand store across the country. Acer retail channel post aggressive ramp up in 2004 is well above 100 across the country covering more than 40 towns and cities across India.

S. Rajendran, General Manager - Sales & Marketing, Consumer Product Group, Acer India (Pvt) Ltd. said, "We are extremely pleased to partner with Synergy Computers in this endeavor. The new store is already witnessing a surge in demand for our products thereby highlighting our growing leadership in the consumer space. We opened our first Acer Mall in December 2003 and have experienced tremendous growth in our retail initiatives. Keeping in mind, the changing retail scenario in India, our aim is to provide customers convenient access to our world-class products."

The new mall will give consumers a chance to walk-in and experience Acer's entire product line including the new projector that can be used as a cost effective alternative to a home theater system. The mall as part of its opening will also present its new walk-in customers with exclusive special offers on Acer's notebooks and desktops as part of the Valentine's Day celebrations.

Acer plans to have Acer Malls and Acer Points across the country and is on a major expansion drive. Acer's retail stores fall into two categories. The first is a full shop or 'Acer Mall' which will comprise of Acer products and non-competing products. In the second category, one section of the store will display Acer. The second category stores are known as 'Acer Points.’ Presently there are 20 Acer Malls and 85 Acer Points across the country.
