Idea and Implementation

Reuters teamed up with twitter to filter and display Tweets and news from Twitter for the Davos 2011. The Twitter API browsed real time data and skimmed the ones which were in trend and arranged them on Reuter’s home page. The same was done for videos, tweets and blogs. The API also allowed the users to reply, retweet or follow the pages from the Reuters’ Davos 2011 page.  

How it helped them?

In four days, more than 100,000 Tweets were received related to the Davos conference out of which 11,247 were displayed on Reuter’s Media Wall. All genres of information regarding Davos were captured by using the tweets including the attendee’s experience, places they visited and people they met turning the conference attendees into real time reporters.
