8 IPL Controversies That Raised Eyebrows

Spot-fixing claims:
The IPL now characterized by three Cs - cash, cricket and controversies also faced match-fixing allegations that surfaced last year after a sting operation conducted by a news channel claimed to have uncovered shady deals between team owners, players and management. It caught players on tape taking bribes to spot-fix. Following this, the BCCI then banned five players - Shalabh Srivatava, TP Sudhindra, Abhinav Bali, Mohnish Mishra and Amit Yadav.

Unceremonious sacking of its creator Lalit Modi:
In 2010 former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi saw the dice turn against him when he was sacked following charges of financial irregularities. He left the country for London and has stayed there since. Just minutes before the presentation ceremony of the 2010 IPL final, Modi was sacked as the IPL commissioner.
