Undoubtedly, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is one among the most beautiful women who is recognized for her flawless look worldwide. She is also known for her regular appearances on the red carpet events around the world, especially at Cannes Film Festival. She started her career as a model and got global recognition after she won the Miss World Pageant in 1994.

Her acting career started with Mani Ratnam's Tamil film Iruvar released in the year 1997. Though many have questioned on her acting prowess, Aishwarya proved her talent with movies like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas. She has also acted in Hollywood movies like Pink Panther 2 released in 2009 and Mistress of Spices released in 2005.

On the ground of global recognition, Aishwarya was awarded Order of Arts and Letters by the French Government. A statement from the French Consulate said, “This prestigious distinction comes in recognition of her invaluable contribution to the world of cinema and the development of Indo-French cooperation in cinema, art, and culture,” reports The Hindu.
