5 Teenage Inventors Who Changed The World
#1 The Inventor of Hip-Hop Was Aged 17
You may or may not be a hip-hop lover, but can surely assume that a single person did not create the entire new style of music out of his blues. But the most prominent of them, who is credited with originating this form of music was a teenager, just the age of recent sensation Justin Bieber.
Clive Campbell was just 17, when he emigrated from Jamaica to New York. He loved music and partying. He became known as DJ Kool Herc and proceeded to put on some of the first public parties in the streets. Campbell's DJ style of isolating the instrumental portion of the record which emphasized the drum beat, in response to the reactions of his dancers, was quickly taken up by the crowd and built him a big fan base.
His unique style of calling out in his attendees in rhymes such as "Break-boys, Break-girls, are you ready? Keep on rock steady,” laid the basis for what would eventually become rap music.
