One should plan the week in advance and find efficient ways to do things more proficiently, like Narsimhan of PepsiCo., who spends extra time on weekend to plan the week ahead. In that way there are no clashes between work and family.

One should also ask for help from your spouse or employer to reduce the workload, both at home and at work. It will also develop a sense of team work. Experts say now that woman have become a major contributing factor to the family financially, it is fair for them to ask help from their spouse and in-laws, so that the parental duties and family responsibilities can be shared.

In this context Akila Krishnakumar, Head of India operations at software firm SunGard says, “If I could not do something. I knew that my husband would pick that up.” Whenever she travels on work purposes, her children are been taken care by her husband and in-laws. Renu Sud Karnad, Managing Director of HDFC remarks that, it’s better to spend quality time with your child than spending the day cooking after work.
