Mamata Banerjee:
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is also on the social media bandwagon. The CM manages to make headlines for controversies, be it being “intolerant” of comments or cartoons about her on social networking sites. She has about 4,000 followers on Twitter. When Banerjee joined Facebook in July last year she was able to get more than 1.5 lakh followers within just 2 months.

After she made her appearance on the social networks, according to the Hindu, Banerjee spends close to half-an-hour every day on it. She effectively used the social network to put across her opinion to the people. Firstpost stated “Everyone knows that Mamata Banerjee’s preferred platform of communication is Facebook. She’s forever posting messages on her Facebook, page, and receiving feedback therefrom.”
